Coastal Flood Warning issued November 14 at 8:09AM EST until November 16 at 10:00AM EST by NWS Newport/Morehead City NC * WHAT...For the Coastal Flood Warning, 2 to 4 feet of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 6 to 10 feet expected in the surf zone. * WHERE...Northern Outer Banks. * WHEN...From 3 AM Friday to 10 AM EST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Up to 2 to 4 feet of inundation above ground level is possible in some areas near shorelines and tidal waterways resulting in a significant threat to life and property. Severe flooding will extend inland from the waterfront causing potential flooding of some homes and businesses. In some areas, battering waves could cause additional damage to property. Some roads may be impassable under several feet of water and vehicles submerged. Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If travel is required, do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions.

High Wind Warning issued November 14 at 1:45AM EST until November 15 at 4:00PM EST by NWS Newport/Morehead City NC * WHAT...North winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected. * WHERE...Northern Outer Banks. * WHEN...From 5 AM to 4 PM EST Friday. * IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution if you must drive.
